In Celebration of Socktober: Why I Love to Knit Socks

Why I Love to Knit Socks

The yarn. I love love love sock yarn. It's a wonderful indulgence. So many colors and textures!

The variety of patterns. Toe-up? Cuff down? Lace? Rib? Cables?

The freedom to try any color (if it's not "your" color you can always wear boots).

Socks are portable.

They feel great on my feet.

Matt loves wearing them too.

I love knitting with tiny double point needles.

Why do you love to knit socks?

portablility, everyone wears them, inexpensive indulgence, wonderful range of colors, many design choices. I am sure I could think of more reasons, but I do love knitting socks and always have a pair in the works.

I'm having some issues with my widdershins, so I'm a bit out of love with socks right now. i feel bad because it's SOcktober and all. So I'm going to try to get over our mutual bad feelings and fall back in love with my widdershins.

Anyway. I love that YOU knit socks because you are generous with your leftovers. :-)

Just read a good book: "The EMperor's Children" by Claire Messud. Good characters. Did you see "the Prestige' is coming out as a movie? Can't wait to see THAT one!
