Olympics here I come, baby!

The Yarn Harlot has created a challenge: The 2006 Knitting Olympics. The basics of the Knitting Olympics are that you should pick a project that is challenging. You can't cast on until the Olympic flame is lit and you must finish before the fire is extinguished (that's February 10th through the 26th). I have accepted this challenge and I have decided that this is a great opportunity to push myself to start the Fibertrends Baltic Sea Stole. I bought the pattern at Stitches Midwest 2005 and I bought the most wonderful yarn for it a couple months ago. This will be my first official lace project. Is anyone else going to join in?

This sounds like a fun idea. I don't know what to pick for it. Maybe the Lelah top?

Hey! I love the new look!! I'm thinking about re-vamping for 2006 myself. Need a little shakeup to get me back in the groove (actually I need a little less work... but that's another story). I'm already working on the Ene's Shawl from Scarf Style and I only had to rip and restart three times (that is until I figured out that I MUST COUNT BETWEEN EVERY STITCH MARKER!) BTW, guess what colors it's in... ;)

How much yarn do you need for that lovely stole? I just ordered the pattern but think I have some yarn that I can use...

I love that stole. I have the book Folk Shawls and have a bunch I want to knit from there. I also joined the Olympics but I'll be knitting a bohus sweater. Looking forward to getting to know you.

I've joined the Knitting Olympics, but I've picked socks. That stole looks really pretty. I think it will look gorgeous in the Helen's Lace you picked.
