Frustration

Ugh. So, yesterday Matt and I got our new computer. We found out a couple weeks ago that the his brother was wanting his computer back (we've been using it for the past year) so we started looking for a new one. After a lot of thought we decided to go for an Apple. We both had only ever used PC's, but after so many crashes, we thought maybe Apple was the way to go. I used to play a lot of computer games which was the main attraction to the PC, but now, all the good titles end up on Mac anyway.

Anyway, long story short, our beautiful new Apple is all set up and I've already had a lot of fun playing with it. Unfortunately I have no idea how to quickly use iPhoto and hence my well-written and fascinating blog post that was all ready to go sans pictures is on hold until I figure stuff out tonight.

:(

***Knitting GROUP is tonight at the Borders' Cafe in Wilmette (corner of Lake & Skokie). We meet from 6:30 until 8:00 and any yarn enthusiast is welcome!***

as a mac user, let me recommend 2 things:

1. Photoshop Elements. (I'm pretty sure it's $79, but you may be able to find one on sale somewhere.) It's a great little program for editing pictures, and the new version has a light verson of adobe bridge, which helps you keep track of your photos, but without moving them around where you don't want them (which was my big gripe with iphoto). I have my own way of keeping track of my photos, and with my harddrive the size it is, I can't keep everything locally.

wow. that was a long recommendation.
Onto 2.

2. Firefox. Firefox for Mac is the only way Blogger will let me upload photos. Strange, but true. I've not tried in the last couple of weeks, but it has been the only thing (historically) that works.

I love my mac. I hope you enjoy yours just as much. :)

you're welcome; drop me an email if you have questions about the mac; i've been a unix admin for ~9 years, and had my ibook for almost 2 now. :)
